What is The You Made It Jamboree?
The You Made It! Jamboree is a celebration of creativity and innovation, giving PAUSD students an opportunity to show and share their original creations with the community, in a non-competitive environment, and inspire others to pursue their own creative ideas and passions.
When is the Jamboree?
The Jamboree will be held on Saturday, May 14th, at City Hall Plaza on Hamilton Avenue, from noon to 3pm.

Who is behind this event?
The Jamboree is sponsored by the Palo Alto Council of PTAs.A group of PAUSD parents is organizing and running the event.
Who can enter the Jamboree?
The Jamboree is open to all students – from any PAUSD school, any grade level.
What kind of creations can be entered?
Just about anything made or created by PAUSD students. For example, robots, websites, toys, modified bikes or skateboards, cars, original fashions, movies, computer games, animations, etc. We are open to all original, innovative creations in all shapes, sizes, and mediums.
Is this for work created at school?
The Jamboree is not limited to work created only for school. Any piece created by a PAUSD student –whether done for school or on their own – will be considered.
How do you enter the Jamboree?
Students will need to fill out an online entry form. These forms will be available starting February 1st on this website.
Can an entry be a collaboration?
Sure. If students create something together, they can enter it as a group effort.
Is there a fee to enter?
No.
Will every entry be accepted into the Jamboree?
All entries will go through a review process and, it’s possible, not every entry will be accepted.  However, the Jamboree is intended to be a celebration of all levels of skill and creativity.
Is there anything that won’t be accepted?
The Jamboree will not accept entries that might pose a danger to others or be offensive to anyone.
Can a student submit more than one entry?
Yes. However, depending on the number of entries received, there may not be enough room to accommodate more than one creation per student.
Is there anything else I must do besides submitting an entry form?
Besides the description that is part of the entry form, you will need to send a photo of your creation (or a link to it, if appropriate) to
entry@youmadeitjamboree.com

That should be enough for most entries to determine if the they will be accepted. Some entries make require a little more detail. For example, if a student is entering a homemade movie, he or she will need to make that movie available (online or via CD) for review. Other entries may need an actual physical review. For these entries, there may be a Bring-It-In day scheduled in March. Students will be contacted if their entry will need to be brought in for further review.
What are the key dates?
Here is the preliminary list of the key dates for the Jamboree:
February 1st     - First day to submit entries
April 18th         - Final day to submit entries.
April 25th         - Notification of entry acceptance
May 14th         - You Made It! Jamboree at City Hall Plaza
Will there be any judging or awards at the Jamboree?
No. This is not a competition.
What will I need to do if my entry is accepted in the Jamboree?
Students whose entries are accepted into the Jamboree will need to have their parent or guardian sign a release form allowing them to take part in the event. This form will be emailed along with the acceptance notices.

The day of the Jamboree, students will need to transport their entries to and from the event. There will be no preliminary setup days. There will be no ability to leave your entry and pick it up the next day.

Depending on the size and type of your creation, you will be given a specific location at the Art Center to display your entry. You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining your creation the day of the event. You will need to provide whatever special assistance or tools are required to set up your entry.
If your creation is a computer program or game, you will need to bring your own laptop to the Jamboree with all necessary files installed on it. We will not be able to provide individual internet connections.

We will have electrical power for all entries that require it.
